Critical Acclaim: 93 pts James Suckling, 92 pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 90 pts Wine Enthusiast
Tasting Notes: "Plenty of spiced currants, red capsicums and fresh herbs to the nose that follow through to a very tannic palate with some nicely chewy tannins. Densely packed. Better give it a year or two. Try in 2025." - James Suckling.
"The peachy and juice 2021 Susana Balbo Signature Cabernet Sauvignon was produced with grapes from Gualtallary (not from their property), which had a superb vintage in the cool and rainy 2021 vintage. As always with the range, it has a small percentage of other grapes, 4% Malbec in this case which might add some unusual floral notes in the variety. It's round and soft, with fine tannins. Drinking Window 2023 - 2027" - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"Susana Balbo, "the Queen of Torrontes," makes balanced red wines as well. This structured Cabernet hails from vineyards in Gualtallary, Uco Valley, where a combination of high altitude, limestone soils and 13 months of oak aging result in a full-bodied and spicy red. Notes of black pepper and cranberry on the palate echo the nose. Soft tannins pave the way to toasted oak flavors of chocolate and cinnamon." - Wine Enthusiast
Varietal: 95% Cabernet, 5% Malbec.
