Critical Acclaim: 94pts James Suckling; 90 pts Wine Spectator.
About the Wine: The 2020 vintage is the earliest ever done at Domaine Alain Graillot, this earliness is the consequence of two components: Obviously the climatic conditions, and the decisions we took. About the weather: even if the year hasn't been as hot as most of years since 2009, it has been extremely dry (under 2 times less than average year), the "wettest" month were May and June. About our decision: the "new world kind of vintage" we have produced since 2009 and there are two ways to face it, either we are subjected to or we change our paradigm, and we base our harvest decision more on the acidity than the sweetness.
Tasting Notes: "A very pure and floral nose with cherries, violets and plums as well. Medium body with velvety tannins and bright acidity. Such a succulent core of redcurrants and violets with minerality and a transparent character to the focused finish. Drink or hold." - James Suckling.
"Shows appealing sanguine, meaty character, with a core of steeped plum and a firming spine of iron. Well-defined, with chalky tannins, dried herbs, lavender and toasted apple wood. Drink now through 2030" - Wine Spectator.
Varietal: Syrah.
