Crescere Wines Platt Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019

Critical Acclaim: 94 pts Jeb Dunnuck

About the Winery:  The remote 500 acre estate was originally purchased in 1994 and Joe and Elena began an ambitious planting program that was completed in 2000.  Since that time the fruit has been sold to many of the most highly regarded wineries in Sonoma County. The family, along with their vineyard crew, currently farm the 150 acres under vine, keeping only a tiny percentage of the finest grapes on the estate for Crescere. Crescere secured renown winemaker Philippe Melka. Philippe has worked with some of the most highly regarded wineries in the New World, including Bryant Family, Dalla Valle, Vineyard 29, Dana Estate, Lail Vineyards, Brand, Gemstone and Hundred Acre.  Philippe was drawn to Crescere because of the family history and possibility of doing something both remarkable and authentic with the Reynoso Family.

Winemaker Tasting Notes:  More boisterous in this vintage than previous years, the wine has a heady aroma of mulberry, blueberry, plum and pine, opening up to notes of rose petals and carnations with a tinge of wet gravel eventually giving way to cinnamon and ginger. On the palate notes of Rainier cherry mixed with tarragon and marjoram greet you with an earthy, mossy undertone along with baking spice notes of cinnamon and ginger.

"Lots of raspberries, black tea, flowers, and a kiss of earthy minerality emerge from the 2019 Pinot Noir Platt Vineyard, a medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced effort from a great vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. Unfortunately, there are only 70 cases produced, but it’s a lively, balanced, incredibly pure Pinot Noir worth seeking out." -Jeb Dunnuck
